Scholarship applications are open!
As Malpractice Lawyers who have been serving Michiganders for years, at Hoffer & Sheremet, PLC we recognize the importance of education, and value the opportunity to give back. Hoffer & Sheremet created this scholarship with the goal of financially assisting undergraduate students in their academic journey.
One winner will be awarded $500. To be considered for the Hoffer & Sheremet Empowering Education Scholarship, please view the requirements below.
Eligibility and Criteria
- Must be able to prove current full-time enrollment to a college, or full-time enrollment to an undergraduate institution starting Fall 2026.
- Must be pursuing undergraduate degree.
- All majors are encouraged to apply!
Essay Topics and Guidelines
Please choose ONE of the two listed topics to write about in an essay:
- Hoffer & Sheremet wishes to support a student that has had a positive impact in their community through school, extracurricular activities, or community involvement. In said spirit, please tell us What does leadership mean to you, how have you demonstrated leadership through adversity, change, and uncertainty?
- Hoffer & Sheremet deeply cherishes the values that make us who we are and shape how we serve others. In a similar manner, please tell us How do your background and experiences shape your perspective and the way you engage with others?
Guidelines:
- Please only submit ONE essay in your application.
- There is no word count or limit, however, make sure you have thoroughly and succintly expressed your point.
- The submission must be your own original work. Essays believed to be written or edited using generative AI will not be considered.
- By submitting your application, you are allowing Hoffer & Sheremet permission to publicly share your work (with credit given) upon acceptance of the scholarship award.
Please note that this is a competitive scholarship with over 1,000 entries each year. Do not let this discourage you from applying! But be prepared to put time and effort into your submission if you would like a good chance of winning!
September 1, 2026 is the submission deadline for your scholarship form and essay. Applications submitted past this date will not be considered.
