Commitment to Community

Volunteering and Sponsorships

Hoffer & Sheremet represents individuals – members of our community.  We are very grateful for the trust and confidence community members place in us when they use our services. We love giving back. If your community organization is seeking volunteers or a corporate sponsorship, please reach out to us.

Schools and Teachers

Informed children become informed adults.  We believe one of the most important facets of education is learning about law and government. And we love teaching children!  We have presentations for all ages, from preschool to high school.  Whether you want your preschoolers to hear about fairness, your fifth graders to develop their own Constitutional Amendments or debate the continued validity of the Second Amendment, or your high school students to compete in a mock Supreme Court argument, please call us!

Legal Internships and Externships

We are currently accepting resumes for Summer 2020.

Current Law Students

Hoffer & Sheremet offers a tailored, intensive learning experience for law students.  We practice law at a very high level.  Our cases are difficult, and there are very few “easy” assignments.  Our externs complete complex legal research, prepare trial court and appellate court briefs, and have direct contact with our clients, in addition to shadowing court hearings and depositions.  We tailor our program to the goals of each individual extern.  Our goal is that at the end of the externship, our externs have not only been exposed to the highest quality of legal representation, but that they understand the realities and significance of being an attorney, and use that understanding to provide their clients the best quality of legal services that they can.

Because our law student extern program is so rigorous, we find that the students who gain the most from our program meet the following criteria:

  • Prior legal externship, internship, or experience.  A prior judicial internship is ideal.
  • Moot court experience, preferably on a national moot court team.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, demonstrated by high grades in one or more legal research classes.
  • Minimum 3.3 GPA.
  • Maturity, responsibility and professionalism demonstrated by prior work experience, leadership roles, and independence.
  • An interest in the law and legal analysis, which is essential in legal malpractice cases or an interest in medicine, which is essential in medical malpractice cases.

If you would like to be considered for our extern program, please submit the following to, subject “Fall 2018 Extern”: resume / CV, transcripts (unofficial is fine), writing sample, and a cover letter that explains your goals for your externship and how you believe HS Law can help further those goals.

Please note: we hire exclusively through our extern program.
